I am a lecturer in philosophy at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. I received my PhD from the Univeristy of California, Santa Barbara.

My research areas are environmental philosophy and early modern philosophy. In environmental philosophy, I am especially interested in the value of non-sentient organisms, such as trees and fungi. My research in early modern philosophy has focused on David Hume’s epistemology. See my research page for more information.
